I™™ve purchased several Frigidaire dehumidifiers in the past, and while there have been problems, Frigidaire has always stepped up and covered the problem quickly and efficiently. The warranty replacement units have performed flawlessly. I™™ve been an advocate for the brand with friends and relatives. Until now™¦.18 days ago, I spent most of my day self-installing our new Frigidaire 15,100 BTU air conditioner (purchased directly from Frigidaire on their web site) through the wall of my house, carefully getting the outer cabinet perfectly in place before sliding the inner mechanism back in. After powering it up - and with unit set on ™Cool™, ™Eco™ mode turned off and the desired temperature set to lowest possible setting the air coming out of the vents was virtually the same as the ambient temperature of the room - despite the compressor running and the unit left on for at least 15 minutes. I™™ve tried it many times since. Still NG.But believe it or not, this actually gets worse! Before I get to that:Recommendation #1: Always try your Air Conditioner out before installing, making sure (after letting it run a bit) that the air coming from grill outlet is considerably cooler than the ambient air temperature in the (warm) room. If not, do not proceed without further diagnostics.I called Frigidaire™™s customer service number that same afternoon, and their automated message told me to expect an extended wait time of 16 minutes (as I recall). I waited over 40 minutes and hung up when dinner arrived. Later that same evening I started a chat session with Frigidaire, struggling to get past ™Pixie™, their unhelpful (tin this case) artificial on-line assistant. Many minutes later, I finally got to a human. We did some diagnostics, and Frigidaire™™s representative said all indications were that they would have to send us a replacement unit. I was emailed a link to initiate the on-line claim process, which was very difficult. At completion, I received a message: ™Someone will contact you within 5 business days to confirm™. Outraged, I called Frigidaire the next morning. Their representative confirmed that ™up to 5 day™ period was Frigidaire™™s process, and that - on top of the 5 day claim review and approval process - it could take up to 9 additional days to ship us a replacement unit (plus shipping time)!!!I requested to speak to a supervisor, and while the agent allegedly spoke to their superior, they apparently wouldn™™t get on the phone with me. My next call was to my credit card company to dispute the charges paid for this non-working appliance (and the optional 5-year Electrolux service contract purchased through Frigidaire on this defective unit) while I tried to work this through with Frigidaire/Electrolux (Electrolux is Frigidaire™™s parent company). There have been many hours waiting in queues and on several additional phone calls and chat sessions in the ensuing 18 days, during which I was ™misled™ on several occasions. But apparently the stumbling block is my inability to provide an image of the ™Service Tag™ on the outer housing of the unit - which is obscured INSIDE THE WALL the sleeve is screwed and bolted into. To obtain that image, the inner mechanism (100+ lbs.) must first be completely removed, and the outer sleeve at least partially removed from the wall - all to provide information Frigidaire printed on the box label and pre-printed Electrolux service contract they sent me. The night this began, I emailed them an image from the box label with all the other claim information requested, asking that they accept this reasonable substitute instead of me removing and reinstalling the entire unit. While subsequent conversations with two different representatives indicated that the claim would be processed, sadly this was not the case. 18 days (and TWO HEAT WAVES) past the date of initial installation (and my subsequent First Contact with Frigidaire Customer Relations) I still have no replacement unit, which is the primary cooling unit in my premises. Recommendation #2 - Another brand. While every manufacturer can experience an occasional occasionally product defect, what matters most is what the manufacturer does next (once notified) to make things right with their customer. Unfortunately, instead of shipping a replacement unit to me expeditiously, Frigidaire/Electrolux seems to be doing their absolute best to antagonize me instead, their (now former) customer. To close: I warned Frigidaire/Electrolux that if they made me remove this entire unit to send them an image of the service tag - containing information they already have - I wouldn™™t be reinstalling it, and I requested a return shipping label to send the defective unit back. To date Frigidaire/Electrolux has not complied with that request. No matter. Tomorrow it comes out and gets re-boxed, and Frigidaire/Electrolux has lost another customer forever.Recommendation #3 - If you insist upon a Frigidaire/Electrolux unit, I™™d suggest getting it from a reputable retailer that cares about its reputation and customers more than Frigidaire/Electrolux. And if you do™¦™¦.Recommendation #4: Take a good digital picture of that service tag before you install unit for future reference - just in case you need it. It might be a good idea to print a copy and keep it with your purchase documentation.

You would they would have better packaging so that the plug on the electrical cord would be so close to the outside of the box. Plug had both live power prongs bent and the ground was completely broken off. I'm quite sure Frigdaire will not take any responsibility or blame for this and pass this off on Home Depot and the shipping company.

This unit is better than any I have had in the past 20+ years. It was alittle difficult to assemble in that the pictures are a bit small in the manual, but everything fit together as it should. We have used it through a 90 degree + heat wave and it has cooled our entire bottom floor, which is greater than 850 ft. The fan speeds are superior to most units. The unit looks like it was built to last and was packaged nicely.

I have had three Frigidaire wall units in the last 8 years and this one is wonderful because it cools up to 850 square feet on a 115 volt outlet. They keep making them better and better. It is also very energy efficient and quiet. I live in the high desert and have a swamp cooler which I love but it only runs on one speed and unfortunately was facing the stove which is not good. So I discussed the merits of getting another swamp cooler for the window vs the Frigidaire window unit with the retired contractor who would do the work. I finally decided on the Frigidaire due to the great past experiences. I love this unit. It works great and is quiet and isn't blowing hard at my dogs like the swamp cooler. I still think a swamp cooler is great for the high desert but needs a professional install and is less reliable than my Frigidaire. The former contractor and his assistant built a standing shelf for the outside and then used plexiglass and sealed it well but it comes with a window install for less complicated windows.

Works well replacing another Frigidaire that have out before it's time should have been up. Not all screws needed were included with the unit so luckily I had some leftover from a prior installation. Be sure to buy a top cover or your unit if you live in a building. It'll save you from a lot of headaches.

I LOVE this air conditioner! With the help of a friend, we had it installed and turned on in record time. Since this AC unit was to be installed through the wall, we had to make some modifications to the space but, with the right tools, it was not a problem. This is definitely a 2-man job due to the size and weight of the unit. I must emphasize that reading the installation instructions is the only way to install the unit. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone.

Easy to mount the empty case first since the unit is heavy making it also easy to slide it into the case with 2 people. The unit has great settings either on the remote or on the unit we leave it in auto and set the temp . It is also very quite for a window unit and keeps us so comfortable.

Our old AC went out in the dead heat of a heatwave. It was well over 10 years old, left behind by the previous owners when we bought our house. We™™ve owned our home for over a decade. So when it died, we couldn™™t be upset. But the hunt was on for it™™s replacement. We looked everywhere, but couldn™™t find a Frigidaire until we looked at PC Richards. This AC is everything and then some of what we were looking for. We had 11,000 btu™™s, this one is 15,100. It completely cools our whole downstairs easily and quietly. I love all of the bells and whistles, including the remote, timer and temperature. My son and I installed it with ease and it was up and running in no time. We couldn™™t be more pleased with this purchase and if we ever need another AC, it will most definitely be a Frigidaire. You can™™t go wrong with the quality for money spent. I paid for a warranty and know this will outlast that time. You™™ve got a customer for life. All of my kitchen appliances are also Frigidaire so you can say, I stick to what I know when I find the best. In this time when every penny counts, I want to get my money™™s worth. Works great, semi quiet, but I can see daylight on the bottom between the slide out and the frame. Shoved foam backer rod the best I could and caulked it. Not going to be easy to slide out unless I cut the caulking.
